Detoxing
Posted on 2010-05-22 12:43:45
Have you ever thought about detoxing or why its important? Detoxing cleanses your body of toxic buildup. It is literally about resting, cleaning and nourishing the body from the inside out. By removing and eliminating toxins, then feeding your body with healthy nutrients, detoxifying can help protect you from disease and renew your ability to maintain optimum health.
Over the years we have probably eaten poor quality foods, functioned off little sleep, consumed alcohol, tobacco, coffee, medications and other toxic substances. These things all upset the balance of the gastrointestinal tract. An unhealthy GI tract plays a critical role in illness and disease.
Continuing to eat poor quality foods, ingest drugs and other toxic substances will eventually lead to a depletion of the vital energies of the body. These energies can not be restored by drugs, coffee, alcohol, or tobacco. With toxic build ups of this make up, the body will expend more energy trying to correct and eliminate them, therefore ultimately leading to a break down.
The body must be given the chance to recover the energy loss and many do so through detoxification. Almost anyone can detox, just do your research to find the best program for you, or ask us for help.
Your Feet & Chiropractic
Posted on 2010-05-02 12:15:27
This month marks my 10-year anniversary as being a licensed Chiropractor. I graduated from Life in March 2000, then I took a few weeks to relax, travel, hang out, and wait for my chiropractic license to come in the mail. Back then when I looked at people who had been practicing for 10 years and was amazed at how much they knew. I couldn't wait until I got to that point.
In May of that same year, I started to work for a chiropractor in Roswell -- Dr. Jim Hovey -- a great man who has served as a mentor to me in many ways. About 18 months later I started my own office here in Kennesaw. Looking back at that time, now with those 10 years of experience under me, I still feel like there is so much more to know about the human body, chiropractic, nutrtion, children, feet, etc. Yes I know more than I did 10 years ago, but I never want to stop learning.
That is why this past weekend I went to another seminar on the foot, gait, and orthotics. It was the third seminar in a 7-series certification program, something I want to attain just so I can learn more and help people in more ways!! The instructor really emphasized how important the feet are in taking care of someone, since if their feet are "out", then it can throw off their entire spine and not let someone hold their adjustment as long.
I often work on people's feet, but not always. For those people who have chronic subluxations, this probably will be something that I start to emphasize more. We learned more about how to custom make orthotics, adding even more to the computerized program we already use in our office.
So, for those of you with foot issues.....bunions, spurs, repetitive strains, toe issues, please remind me about it so we can begin to take a look at it and make the necessary changes to help you even more. For those with chronic low back pain, hip pain, or even headaches, ask me if foot adjustments or orthotics can help you.
Until then...keep taking care of your spine and your feet!
